In 2019 with the Packers, Williams played in all 16 games. He ended up recording 39 total tackles, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and eight defended passes. Not bad for a guy who doesn’t receive much credit.
Pettine put it, that savvy that Williams possesses led him to an excellent 2019 season for the Green Bay Packers. In 539 coverage snaps, Williams allowed a completion percentage of 63.5, gave up only two touchdowns, had two interceptions, five pass breakups, and opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of just 86.5 when targeting him.
Williams, who turns 37 in March, turned in a terrific season covering the slot for Mike Pettine’s defense. He’s the rare athlete who has remained quick and agile despite his age, and he’s also avoided injury and provided priceless leadership in the Packers secondary.
